Strategy, Management & Training
for Sports & Entertainment
Are you having trouble managing your social media?
Too many networks and not enough time?
Not feeling the social love from your audience?
My social media experience in sports and entertainment will provide you with the expertise to build your social following, engage with your fans, and find the best networks to connect with your audience.
I can help you develop a core of ‘super fans’ that will not only support your brands and properties, but will also spread your message! I have deep links in the online fandom communities, so know what makes an excited and engaged community of fans, and what that community can do for you.
Whether you’re managing a TV show, talent, a product, or a brand, I can help you bring your story to social, and develop your online community.
I specialize in social media strategy, content development and interactive production for people in entertainment and their projects. I’ve been building and engaging communities online since people talked on IRC about the X-Files, and have spent over sixteen years in interactive production, with seven years experience in the television industry.
With CBC, I worked on and supported social and second screen projects for shows like Over the Rainbow, Dragons’ Den, Arctic Air, Heartland, Mr. D, Canada for Haiti, the first Canadian Screen Awards, the Gemini Awards, the Canadian Country Music Awards, Cover Me Canada, Live Right Now, Village on a Diet, George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight, and Steven & Chris. I trained talent, production and staff in social media basics, and developed best practices and emergency response procedures. I’ve also live-tweeted and covered the red carpet via social media for CBC LIVE.
Since then, I’ve headed the ‘Sochi shift’ for CBC Sports’ 2014 Sochi Olympic coverage, managed the SportsnetU Recruited campaign on social media, and live-tweeted CBC’s hit drama X Company. I also launched Toronto’s first social media events company, #partytime social media services.
My three defining ‘online’ experiences are: Cloudmakers.org/A.I. The ARG (a.k.a. ‘The Beast’) and ‘The Beast’ (The A.I. Game), the online lead up to the The Blair Witch Project, and TorGame: Waking City. I’m a long-time text-based gamer and live-action roleplayer, where I’ve developed and managed unique communities around different fandoms. I’m also a freelance RPG writer, with a j-pop epic modern fantasy game in development called ‘Idols of Light’.
